QLA is a fully accredited not for profit organisation that has been providing in home support for people with a disability on the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas for 21 years. We pride ourselves on the service we provide with the main focus on client based outcomes and self-management.
Our aim is to provide the best possible lifestyle for clients to enable them to be as independent as possible.
Our services include: personal care, sleepovers, housekeeping, meal preparation, community access, accessible transport, social support, holiday companion, family respite and other services as required.
How do we operate: the service is managed by a Management Committee of people with disabilities. The day to day operations are carried out by our dedicated team of Case Managers, General Manager and Home Care Employees.
If you are a person who has received funding and is requiring a service provider we can offer you a great deal of flexibility and professional service. QLA supports people with a disability through Disability Services, Post School Support, Queensland Health, WorkCover, The Public Trustee, National Australia Trustees, RACQ Insurance and self-funding. QLA has also recently registered to operate under Your Life Your Choice. If you have a different funding package and are looking for a more flexible organisation to cater for your needs we are here for you.
Personal support occurs on an individual basis with as much flexibility as possible to enable clients to live fulfilled lifestyles and participate fully in a range of life experiences. Each client utilises their support hours according to their personal choice and circumstances. As a result, every person has a unique pattern of support that meets their needs and enhances their self-determination and community participation.
QLA is 21 years old this year! Back in 1992 a small group of people with disabilities had a vision to create an organisation to provide the daily supports that they required to live a productive, purposeful and enriched life.
Under the invaluable guidance of the Management Committee, all users and family members of users, the organisation has developed and grown into a small, robust disability support service provider with clients from Brisbane to Kingaroy. We are proud of the quality of our home care employees and staff who continue to embody the values and philosophies of the organisation of social justice, personal choice for users, flexibility, dignity and respect.
Our belief is that we work ‘hand in hand’ with our clients to provide them with the lifestyle of their choice and empower them to attain their concept of a quality life. We work collaboratively with each individual to facilitate their daily living needs.
We are passionate about supporting our clients and our staff, enjoying the benefits of developing lifelong friendships along the way. We hope that you enjoy exploring our website and that, you too, will become a lifelong friend of our multicultural team.
